●Ways to Remember Names

字體:16+-

It seems that a gifted conversationalist remembers every name, and every time.Fortunately, you can remember them with a little help and some practice, too.

Gather your wits before you meet a new group of people. If you can, prepare a list of names before the meeting, and that will help you connect the names to faces.

Pay attention to the other person’s name when you are introduced. As you make eye contact, say it out loud and at least once during the conversation, and say it again when you part.

Repeat the name in your mind over a few times and link it to a visual image: if her name is Mary Jane, imagine she wears Mary Jane shoes.Or you can connect the person with others who have that name; visualize the Henry Lincoln you’ve just met standing beside Martin Lincoln.

You can use rhyming: “Nate the waiter” or “Tall Paul.” (Never say it out loud.)

Then reinforce your memory by asking him for a card, looking at his name tag,and writing his name down as soon as you get home.
